Brad Dean Alexander

Brad Dean Alexander has been teaching piano lessons since 1987, and is also a professional performer with Carnival Cruise Line.

Brad offers lessons in his home studio in the Toronto Beaches, and also online.  Brad began teaching piano lessons in 1987 with the “Canadian Bureau for the Advancement of Music”. He has taught lessons in over 20 elementary schools in the Greater Toronto area, as well as privately in his home studio in East York. Brad has been performing since he was 7 years old, and balanced teaching and entertaining until he was hired by Carnival Cruise Lines in 2004 as a “Piano Bar Entertainer”. In 2005 he decided to take on the position aboard the Carnival “Funships” full time, and spent the next eight years sailing the world and entertaining guests in the Carnival pianobars that are aboard every vessel. He is now one of the senior piano bar entertainers in the fleet and occasionally does short runs on the ships. Brad has moved back to Toronto is accepting students 6 years and older, as well as adult students. His long career as a performer gives him a unique teaching style that focuses on classical training, but also on chords, charts, improvisation, ear training, performance styling, and practice techniques that encourage fast progress, and an emphasis on enjoying the process. He also is an examiner for the Canadian Bureau for the Advancement of Music, and offers Royal Conservatory Exam preparation.
